ACTIVE RETIRED MAN

profullo babu retired at 58yrs from a high post goverment service.his son and daughter are married,well-established in life and live abroad. after retirement profullo babu thought to himself,"i have worked all my life..how will i manage only sitting at home now?without any work?..i must find some work for myself!!". Profullo babu,himself is quite well established in life.own a luxurious flat,with the best furnishings in the neighborhood,has a plasma screen TV,AC,geysar,aqua guard,computer,latest music system,home theatre, etc.he lives with his wife,who is a homely lady.she is shrewd and witty.they only allow two part time maid servants because full time maids cannot be trusted these days. these maids finish the cooking-washing-cleaning by morning.profullo babu and his wife live by themselves.one day his wife told him,"i have been looking after the house all these days..now thats u have retired,you take care of everything.i will only supervise in the kitchen." days went by,profullo babu sat at home going over the newspaper and thought "i must do something to keep myself active". thereafter one day, the aqua guard mechanic came by,"sir,we need to service ur machine as per your annual contract with our company".profullo babu said " alright,come in".his wife warned him," keep watch!".profullo babu said "yes of course!",and said to himself, " at last i have found some work to do!". he took great interest in the work initially,and talked to the mechanics very enthusiastically.he checked to see of the work was done properly.the work went on for one or two hours.profullo babu`s routine bath and lunch were delayed because of the work.but he was happy because he had done some work today!! soon after that day,another two young men came by,and said they needed to repair the air-conditioner.it was 12pm in the afternoon at that time.it was time for profullo babu`s routine bath!but his wife asked him to look after the repair and also warned him "keep watch!".he had no choice but to say "yes of course!"the mechanics worked for 2 to 3 hours.profullo babu however managed to have his bath in between,but his lunch was delayed.he was hungry but could not complain.some more days went by, and the TV broke down.his wife ordered,"call the tv mechanic".so profullo babu phoned them but strictle mentioned that the mechanics should not come before 2pm.because he must keep to his routine time for bath and lunch! the tv mechanics arrived after 2pm so there was not much problem that day.now profullo babu was an ACTIVE RETIRED MAN! when ever he would not have any work at hand,he would phone the technicians and spend time repairing something or the other.and then he has the bank and post office to go to.above all,he has 24hours duty at home!he must attend to the door every time the door bell rings.the duty begins from 7am ..the newspaper,the milkman,sweeper boy,maid servant ...and the list goes on! attending to the door is a way of keeping fit,says profullo babu.all his time is spent in doing this work.therefore he does not have the time to think of any other job.he is so busy now that he does not even manage to keep to his routine bath and lunch.he was very tired after all this work and thought to himself "now i understand why i found my wife irritated in the evening when i came home from work..she had to do this work all by herself!". after some more months,profullo babu said to his wife," let us go some where for a small vacation,we will take rest and do some sight seeing also.i cannot work anymore! i need to retire from house work!"
